Max Weiss is a co-founder of Diatonic and actively works to source, execute, and manage new investment opportunities with the team, as well as develop investment themes. Mr. Weiss has had experience as both a healthcare investor as well as a business services operator/founder, and he currently serves as an Expert Operating Partner with Metropolitan Partners Group, leading their Independent Sponsor Practice. Mr. Weiss sits on several philanthropic or volunteer boards & committees, and previously worked with Eir Partners Capital, a middle market Healthcare Tech private equity firm. Prior to Eir Partners, Mr. Weiss worked at Prospect Capital, Cross Keys Capital, and US Anesthesia Partners, as well as several full-time investment roles during business school. Mr. Weiss holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Economics from The University of Chicago, and and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Chris Heckler is a co-founder of Diatonic and actively works to execute, manage, and operationally improve portfolio investments with the team. Mr. Heckler also plays a key role in developing investment themes, and serves as the CEO of Spendrule, our healthcare supply chain technology platform. Mr. Heckler has over 25 years of healthcare supply chain technology experience, and notably co-founded, operated, and exited Valify, a purchased services supply chain tech company backed by Frist Cressey Ventures and Martin Ventures, in 2019. Mr. Heckler has also held senior leadership positions in other companies, including LSPedia. Mr. Heckler holds a BBA in Management Information Systems from Baylor University, an MBA from Texas Tech University, as well as FinTech certifications from The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.

Joseph Akintolayo is an operating partner at Diatonic and actively works to execute, manage, and operationally improve portfolio investments. Mr. Akintolayo leads our in-house technology & AI development and de novo platform builds, and serves as the CTO of Spendrule, our healthcare supply chain technology platform. Mr. Akintolayo has exited several companies in multiple spaces, with a heavy focus on financial technologies, including Deposits, which sold to Ingo Payments in 2024. He has been the recipient of numerous founder-focused awards from organizations like Google Founders Fund, and has a passion for philanthropy. He serves as the Executive Chairman of Renaissance Labs, which has helped train 500+ African developers. Mr. Akintolayo played an active role in preserving $10M+ of value for 100+ Black-owned businesses during COVID. Mr. Akintolayo achieved a BA from The University of Texas Arlington.

Paul Weiss is an operating partner at Diatonic and actively works to execute, manage, and operationally improve portfolio investments. Mr. Weiss helps lead our generalist investments through our subsidiary company, Rivercrest Capital, and he serves as CEO of Sunstone Real Estate Advisors. Most recently the Chief Executive Officer of Elevation Enterprises LLC, where he led four proprietary sourced acquisitions and growth capital initiatives for a cannabis company, and successfully exited to a conglomerate in the space. Previously, Mr. Weiss was the Founding Partner of West Hill Asset Management LLC, a multi-family investment company specializing in real estate and fixed income investments, Managing Partner of Atlas One Financial Group LLC, a licensed broker dealer specializing in asset management and institutional fixed income trading, scaling it from $0.0 to over $1.0 billion in Assets under Management. Before Atlas One he was a Senior Executive Director at CIBC World Markets, a Senior Vice President of Investments at PaineWebber, a Managing Director at Bear Stearns, and a Vice President of Investments at AG Edwards. Mr. Weiss achieved a BS in Economics from the State University of New York at Purchase.
